BEST Disability Support
BEST Disability Support has two skill-building centres in Greenbank (Thrive) and Slacks Creek (Reach) and we pride ourselves on high quality supports delivered by passionate and
motivated mentors. BEST’s suite of services includes group day service, weekend getaways and support coordination.
At BEST, we refer to our staff as ‘mentors’ and those who access our services as ‘members’. When you join BEST, you become a member of our exclusive club and you’ll get a club card
to show for it! Read on to learn more about the benefits of joining the BEST club!
At BEST Disability Support we have engaged with several allied health providers including occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology, counselling, music therapy, physiotherapy and exercise physiology. We recognise that it can be difficult to organise therapy sessions inside the home and so we welcome allied health providers to our centres. We have dedicated therapy
rooms onsite which our members and allied health providers can use to conduct their therapy sessions.
At BEST we have a dedicated Program Coordinator role at both Thrive and Reach. Our Program Coordinators build our activity schedule each term that has a diverse and comprehensive program offering and they help keep our programs to a consistently high standard. They also plan all the fun stuff including events, special celebrations and weekend getaways!
We host four unforgettable weekend getaways per year for our members! Explore the top tourist destinations and activities, go for a beach walk, enjoy a night out on the town,
participate in team vs team games, and bond with your mates over a campfire. We guarantee memories will be made and you will go home exhausted! Limited spots available.
At BEST we have a specialised learning formula that is focused on building skills in our members to set them up for future success. Read on to learn more about our ‘3-Step
Learning Formula’.
Courses delivered by our Head of Workspace (HoW) mentors
Step 1: Learning by listening: Courses delivered by our Head of Workspace (HoW) mentors
If someone’s passionate about what they are saying, then you want to know more about it right?! At BEST, we hand-pick our mentors who’ve got passion behind what they’re teaching. We’ve got six Head of Workspace (HoW) mentors who have a particular interest or passion project that they develop programs around and share with our members. Our HoW mentors are in the fields of: Permaculture, Health & Wellbeing, Art & Music, Cafeteria, Barbering and IT & Media.
Our HoW mentors design their programs and courses to be flexible and engaging for our members. They help pave the way for the next step in the learning journey.

Real world experience with our community connects
Step 3: Learning by applying: Real world experience with our community connects
We are passionate about our community and we love seeing our members take part in and belong to their local community. We’ve linked in with several local businesses and organisations that offer work experience, sports and skill-building opportunities for our members. Our members get to apply their centre-based learning to the real world and they absolutely love it!
